High Tunnels

We installed 2 high tunnels in 2022 after we received a grant from the NRCS. High tunnels allow us to extend our season in the beginning and end, so our overall growing season is longer. The high tunnels will be automatically controlled by having a thermostat that control when the sides are rolled up. That way we are able to control the temperature so it doesn’t overheat any of the plants. On sunny days the temperature increases quickly. To give you an idea, during January it was -9 degrees outside, but since it was sunny, the high tunnel reached 60 degrees. We look forward to our first growing season in them in spring of 2023. There will be a learning curve, but its a challenge worth taking!
